See the new buses that will replace danfo in Lagos

The Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday said there were plans to remove yellow buses, popularly known as danfo, from Lagos roads. Ambode explained that danfo would give way to a more efficient, well-structured and world-class mass transport system that would facilitate ease of movement within the city.

The tyre of a Boeing 767 aircraft belonging to Qatar Airways exploded while attempting to take off at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos. The aircraft, which was Dubai bound and had hundreds of passengers on board, had initiated take-off on the runway 18 right of the airport when the incident occurred at about 3pm. One of the passengers, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity, said the Captain was already cleared for take off by the Air Traffic Controllers and the aircraft was about to gather speed when suddenly one of the tyres exploded, and they heard a loud sound. Immediately, everyone on board panicked and started praying aloud until the aircraft finally came to a stop. The aircraft was later parked for repair at one of the hangers in the terminal while the airline management embarked on alternative arrangement for the affected travellers.

Federal Appeals Court rules against reinstating President Trump's travel ban

President Donald Trump's controversial travel ban will remain blocked. That's according to a federal appeals court ruling late Thursday. The unanimous ruling from a three-judge panel means that citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries will continue to be able to travel to the US, despite Trump's executive order last month. - - - "On the one hand, the public has a powerful interest in national security and in the ability of an elected president to enact policies," the judges wrote. "And on the other, the public also has an interest in free flow of travel, in avoiding separation of families, and in freedom from discrimination. We need not characterize the public interest more definitely than this... TMZ reports that it all started just after noon on Saturday in the San Fernando Valley;  Nicholas Cage's son,  Weston Cage,  was arrested  for driving under the influence( DUI). 26 year old Weston, also an actor, got into an accident and then exchanged information with the other driver involved in the crash, but he reportedly took off once he believed police were on their way to the scene. During the chase, the 26-year-old lost control of his vehicle and hit several mailboxes as well as a stop sign. His car was stopped after it crashed into a tree and he was arrested.

Former Delta State governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has described reports that he was deported by the British authorities to Nigeria, as malicious and misleading. Chief Ibori also reiterated that the trial leading to his conviction by a British Court was marred by corruption and he would challenge his conviction by the court. The former governor, who received a rousing welcome when he returned to Nigeria on Saturday after serving out his jail term in the UK, spoke through his Media Assistant, Mr Tony Eluemunor in a statement issued on Monday. Ibori also denied knowledge of a Twitter Account being rumoured to be operated by him. Kanye West has deleted all his tweets about President Donald Trump. And the husband of Kim Kardashian did so because he's 'unhappy with what Donald's done during his first two weeks in office. According to TMZ, the 39-year-old rapper is especially distraught over his travel ban. Kanye had tweeted about Trump in a positive light after the election. In December, the day he met with Trump in NYC, he wrote, "I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change." - - - Kanye also wrote about issues on which he felt he could influence Trump, writing, "These issues include bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago." - - - Our sources say Kanye's decision to remove the tweets were all his. Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has described those wishing President Muhammadu Buhari dead as wicked, callous and treacherous. James Ibori picked up by DSS at Abuja airport for interrogation

Moments after ex-convict James Ibori landed Abuja after returning from UK today, he was picked up by the DSS in Abuja for debriefing. According to SaharaReporters, their British government sources indicated that Mr. James Ibori was "returned" to Nigeria. He was deported after serving jail term. James Ibori is still undergoing interrogation at the DSS office in Abuja. A DSS source said Ibori was taken from the airport to DSS.

There’s no travel ban on Nigerians – US envoy

The United States has said Nigerians will not be banned from entering the country contrary to speculations of many. The US Ambassador to Nigeria , Ambassador W. Stuart Symington who said this yesterday during a press briefing in Abuja, stated that the US holds Nigeria in high esteem and would not ban its citizens from coming to US. He said the connection between our two countries has been strong and will continue to be strong tomorrow. He refuted the claim that Nigeria visa status has been reduce to one year. He said that nothing has really changed in the Visa policy for Nigeria, stressing that the two years multiple entry status is still valid for Nigerians. He said U.S will not discriminate against any Nigerian based on religion or tribe. A rapist will soon be able to sue his victim if she wants an abortion after a new law was passed in America. The shocking act could come into effect as early as this spring and will allow members of the rape victim’s own family to stop a termination by suing the abortion provider. The Arkansas Act 45, which has been passed in the southern US state of the same name, does not include an exception clause for rape by a spouse or incest, meaning the foetus’s father could sue an abortion clinic, even if they have raped the woman. Pro-choice supporters reacted with shock and disgust to the news. Karen Musick, co-founder of Arkansas’s Abortion Support Network, told the Daily Beast: - - - “There is zero part of me that understands why a rapist or someone who got someone pregnant against their will, maybe incest, would have any right in that decision. “I cannot wrap my brain around the fact that there would be anyone who thinks otherwise.” But Arkansas representative Andy Mayberry, one of
