IWOBI COULD BE LIKE PAYET IN A FEW YEARS, CLAIMS ARSENAL LEGEND HENRY The former Gunners striker has backed up Arsene Wenger by insisting that the Premier League title hopefuls do not need the wantaway West Ham forward Thierry Henry says Arsenal have no need to sign Dimitri Payet during the January transfer window as Alex Iwobi can be as good as West Ham’s wantaway Frenchman. Payet is pushing for a move away from London Stadium, with a return to former club Marseille seemingly his most likely destination. Arsenal have also been linked with the talented 29-year-old, with Arsene Wenger rarely out of the market for creative influences in the final third of the field. The Gunners boss has, however, been quick to play down any suggestion that he could be tempted to table a bid for a prized asset on the books of a Premier League rival. Arsenal legend Henry understands that stance, with a man who netted a club record 228 goals  during his time in north London of the opinion...

HOW DO YOU SPEND €689M? MANCHESTER UNITED MUST MAKE GRIEZMANN THEIR NEXT POGBA-ESQUE SIGNING

Image
The Red Devils climbed to the top of the list of football's biggest earners in 2016 and are now in a position to spend big on the Frenchman. You can tell when Paul Pogba has turned in an underwhelming performance because everybody suddenly starts reminding you of his world-record price tag. One poor display is all it takes for people to mention his £89.5 million transfer fee and start doubting once more whether Manchester United got their money’s worth. But the revelation this week that United drew the highest annual revenue in history in 2015-16 at €689m means not only that the outlay on Pogba was more than accounted for but also that big spending is likely to continue next summer and beyond at Old Trafford. As such, talk of United potentially outdoing even themselves to sign Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season is far from fantasy. Having reacted to three years of inadequacy by going all out, splashing the cash on Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Eric Bailly and hi...

Signatures of last four US Presidents Trump, Obama, Bush & Clinton

Image
President Donald Trump signed his first official documents as the 45th president of the United States after being sworn in on Friday, January 20, and people across the globe watching the ceremony take place also noticed something interesting: his unique signature. US analysts tried reading meaning into the signatures and said Trump's signature reveals someone whose mind is extremely analytical. While that of Obama reveals one who can see the end result of a problem or issue so fast that his mind works lightening fast to get there. His brain is working faster than the pen can keep up.

MAN UTD & LYON AGREE £15M MEMPHIS DEAL

Image
The Dutch forward has become increasingly marginalised at Old Trafford and now appears set to move to the Ligue 1 club Manchester United have agreed to sell Memphis Depay to Lyon for an initial fee of £15 million that could rise to £21.7m. The Dutch winger arrived at Old Trafford from PSV for £22.3m in the summer of 2015, but having seen his importance quickly deteriorate under Louis van Gaal in 2015-16 he has found game time difficult to come by in Jose Mourinho’s side this season. After initially attracting the attention of Everton, Memphis is now set to sign for Lyon after the French club agreed to pay around £15m up front, with further performance-related fees potentially taking the overall package up close to United’s outlay 18 months ago. The 22-year-old’s signing for the Red Devils courted much publicity, with his being handed the famous number seven shirt increasing his early popularity among the fan base. However, a series of disappoin...

CHINESE CLUB'S WORLD RECORD €120M MILLION DEAL SCUPPERED BY GOVERNMENT

Image
Reports suggest a team tried to break Manchester United's world record earlier this month, but new regulations stopped it becoming a reality A Chinese Super League (CSL) club were prevented from breaking the world transfer record by new rules prohibiting an influx of foreign players, according to new revelations in the country's media. One of the lucrative Asian league's clubs were set to buy an unnamed player for a fee of €120 million earlier this month, eclipsing the €105m deal that took Paul Pogba to Manchester United last year. However, a Chinese media outlet quote an insider source claiming the CSL were poised to "ruin" the global transfer market if they continued to raid foreign leagues. “A string of big-money transfers in recent months have struck a nerve with high-ranking leaders who took charge of Chinese football," the unnamed source told  Soccer News . "They took particular exception to those deals completed at the beginning of the year....

OZIL WISHES ARSENAL TEAMMATE ELNENY LUCK WITH EGYPT

Image
The Germany international hopes his colleague do well with the Pharaohs in Africa’s biggest football competition in Gabon. Ozil has wished   Mohamad  Elneny all the best as Egypt target their eight Africa Cup of Nations title. The mid fielder  who joined Arsenal from Basel last season would be missed in the Gunners squad, as Arsene Wenger would rely on Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka in his first team owing to injuries to Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla. And Ozil is keen to wish his teammate luck on Twitter. “Hey bro. I wish you best of luck for the African Nation Cup with Egypt.” Having played a 0-0 draw in their opening game versus Mali, Elneny will be hoping to inspire the Pharaohs to victory against Uganda on Saturday. Egypt have won the African title for a record seven times, and victory in Gabon would hand them their eight crown – four ahead of joint second most successful teams, Cameroon and Ghana.

A circular signed by Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, director, financial policy and ‎regulation department, Kelvin Amugo, stated that the move was necessitated by money laundering and terrorism financing risks inherent in operations of virtual currencies. - - - - “The emergence of Virtual Currencies (VCs) has attracted investments in payments infrastructure that provides new methods of transmitting value over the internet. Transactions in VCs are largely untraceable and anonymous making them susceptible to abuse by criminals, especially in money laundering and financing of terrorism. The development of VCs Payment Products and Services (VCPPS) and their interactions with other New Payment Products and Services (NPPS), give rise to the need for guidance to protect the integrity of the Nigerian financial system. - - - - There is, therefore, the need to address the Money Laundering/Terrorism Financing risks associated with VC exchanges and any other type of institutions ...

The Gambia's National Assembly has adopted a resolution to allow President Yahya Jammeh to stay in power for three more months, starting from Wednesday, according to state television. Jammeh, who has ruled The Gambia for 22 years, initially acknowledged opponent Adama Barrow as the winner of elections in December, but later rejected the ballot count as flawed and lodged a complaint with the country's Supreme Court. “I don’t like tweeting & I don’t want celebrities at my inauguration” - Donald Trump

Image
Donald Trump, whose early-morning rants and policy pronouncements on Twitter have left the world hanging on his every typed word, has said he doesn't like using the social media platform in comments to air Wednesday. - - - - "I don't like tweeting," Trump told Fox News's "Fox & Friends" program. "I have other things I could be doing. But I get very dishonest media, very dishonest press. And it's my only way that I can counteract," he said in excerpts of the interview released late Tuesday. Since winning the presidency in November, the Republican has exploited Twitter to make administrative announcements, weigh in on foreign policy -- and hurl barbs at anyone who crosses him. Asked if he would continue to use it as president, Trump said: "Yes." - - - -  A-list celebrities have also backed off from Donald Trump's inauguration in droves, leaving Trump struggling like none of his predecessors to find household names...

CHELSEA's team spirit will take them to Premier League glory this season, ex-England striker Paul Mariner believes.

Image
He told ESPN: "The elephant in the room is the Costa situation. Conte [needs] to come to some arrangement with their owners and with Costa to make sure he stays until the end of the season and then who knows what happens after that. But I think they've got enough. We saw at the weekend against Leicester, they came out of the blocks so fast, got that early goal from [Marcos] Alonso and they looked together. They reminded me a little of Leicester last season, like when the ball went in the back of the net and they were all hugging each other - that's key. When you've got a dressing room that's so locked together, that's massive for a club. Conte is the twelfth man in this team, he's been a phenomenal coach on the sidelines."

Wendy Willians claims Selena Gomez is using The Weeknd for publicity

Image
Selena Gomez has been accused of using new beau The Weeknd. “When Selena wants to push out new music, they say she dates the stars that are going to help her along with collabos and things like that, and then when the music is out, she drops them and moves on to the next one,” Wendy said, claiming that Justin Bieber's friends have accused of her doing the same. Wendy accused The Weeknd's latest album, Starboy, was 'lukewarm' and hinted that the new relationship arose because Selena is hugely popular on Instagram with 107 million followers on Instagram. “What keeps you in the public eye more than a popping relationship?” a suspicious Wendy asked. The outspoken chat show host insisted that Selena is “not a singer” and claimed that she was probably “the most manufactured” artist out. Wendy told Selena that she only had “two more minutes” to 'network' with guys before she gets to an age when people start judging her. Meanwhile...
